The environment is UNIX with primarily Linux, FreeBSD, and Solaris servers. The backbone of the infrastructure is a large Web Hosting Network that we designed, built and support. The primary responsibilities will be: Setting up, configuring, and maintaining internet systems/services, UNIX systems administration, software installation and configuration, problem diagnoses, performance monitoring, tuning and enhancement of production and development systems and interacting with our clients to provide technical assistance.

Job Description- Developer- The developer will liaise with the BOX product manager to facilitate the design of company products. The developer needs to leverage knowledge of Linux, open source apps, and x86 hardware to address specific OS customization requirements.
This is a cutting-edge and rewarding opportunity for the right candidate. The candidate will get exposure to advanced Linux development and gain invaluable real-world business experience. This is a Manhattan based opportunity; however, very little travel is required (see below).
Work Schedule & Pay- This opportunity is similar to a freelance consulting assignment. The developer works independently, only meeting airsoft guns(online or face-to-face) once or twice a week with the product manager to discuss progress and strategic goals. Box Technology will provide hardware and Linux distro. There are no set hours/locations, meaning, the developer is responsible for setting up his/her work time and location. The compensation for this project is $250 (+ bonus for early completion) and should take between 15-17 dedicated work hours to complete; the project is expected to be completed within two weeks max. Moreover, top performance could lead to additional project assignments and/or additional bonuses.
