#ruslug - The RUSLUG IRC Channel
What's IRC
IRC is short for Internet Relay Chat. It is a text-based protocol designed for sending and recieving messages in real time. It has a feel similiar to instant messaging, except that it is designed for group participation and discussion rather than one on one conversation. RUSLUG in particular usually has about 15 to 20 people in the #ruslug IRC channel at any given time. Though many people have have clients logged in the chatroom, most not actively paying attention. Still, the #ruslug channel is a great resource for getting Linux help, especially if you ask a [smart question]. You might have to wait for a little while for an answer, just hang in the channel for a half hour.
