Announcements
The Rutgers Ubuntu mirror previously linked here has been taken down. It was not affiliated with RUSLUG, and we had no control over it. http://ftp.osuosl.org/pub/ubuntu/ is a fairly reliable mirror and visible over Internet 2. Be careful when using it, connections to it might count against your bandwidth quota if you are living in Rutgers housing.
Please see http://centos.rutgers.edu for local Rutgers mirrors of CentOS, Fedora, and Rawhide (this service is not affiliated with RUSLUG).
If you picked up an Ubuntu CD from us and want to get started, check out our Documentation.
Anonymous editing has been disabled. To edit the wiki you need to create a user name and password. You don't need to be a Rutgers student to register your username and password. Please don't let this prevent you from making contributions. Go here to create a new account.
RUSLUG has a Library! See the Library page for more information about requesting and reviewing any books.
About Us
RUSLUG is a student-run organization dedicated to teaching students and local residents about Linux, and spread word of the "Free Software" philosophy.
We hold bi-weekly meetings regularly during the Rutgers school year, on Tuesday nights at 9:00pm in the Engineering EIT lab. At meetings we'll usually have a presentation or discussion of something related to Linux.
We also hold some larger events like Installfests and an introduction meeting we call "Newbie Night". Please see CurrentEvents for more information on these.
We are registered as a student organization of Rutgers College, and thus officially affiliated with and partially-funded by that body. We have loose affiliations with various other Rutgers student organizations, such as USACS and WCS, as well as other LUGs in Jersey like "LUG/IP" and CHLUG.
